Angling: Atlantic Salmon Fishing

The river systems of Canada’s eastern seaboard provinces provide winter homes for Atlantic salmon that migrate to their protective waters to spawn and hatch.  The Miramichi River has the largest Atlantic salmon run in Eastern North America, and we’re able get you on our private Black Rapids pools from April through October.

Spring fishing – when the salmon are running out to sea – is exciting and invigorating.  Because of the high water run-off, most spring fishing is done by boat.  When the fish begin returning to their birthplace in the middle of summer, anglers cast either while wading, or from the shore.

Atlantic salmon fishing is an invigorating sport regardless of the direction of the runs: both offer unique challenges, and most enthusiasts want to fish it each way!
